It’s fairly clear to anyone who knows me, has seen this site, follows me on social media, etc. etc. that I’m just a wee bit slightly obsessed with this band out of the UK. It’s hard to describe them — they’re quite chameleon-like; each new release carries hints of the status quo, but with a big smack of ‘shakeup’, the kind that leaves you thinking “God, I’m really boring.”
Enter Shikari‘s electrifying (and that’s an understatement), terribly brilliant frontman/vocalist/jack-of-many-instruments (and one of my two favorite gingers on the planet) Rou Reynolds lyrics are arguably (well, to me there is not argument, but…) the smartest, most inspiring of any hard music band out today. One line carries an abundance of meaning and passion. Seriously, when you listen to their songs, grab the lyrics too. Provocative, political perfection.
Get in your convertible, turn your speakers up and check out Enter Shikari’s latest “Live Outside”. now on Spotify.
And check out my interview with the band last March in Chicago HERE.
I feel this could be the beginning…of a beautiful friendship for all of you. –Juliet
